Physicians of India (Malwa Branch), ‘MAPICON Bathinda 2027’, the largest
HYBRID (physical and virtual) conference of the region at Bathinda from 16th
to 19th September 2027. This prestigious event is being organised under the
aegis of the Punjab Medical Council, Association of Physicians of India (API),
Physicians Research Foundation of API, and the Indian College of Physicians

‘MAPICON Bathinda 2026’, the 13th Annual Conference of the Association of
Physicians of India (Malwa Branch), was the largest regular HYBRID
conference with national status in the region. Held from 17th to 20th September
2026 at Hotel Ginger, Bathinda, it was organised under the aegis of the Punjab
Medical Council, Association of Physicians of India (API), and the Indian
College of Physicians (ICP). It was awarded 16 credit hours for physical and 5
credit hours for virtual attendance.
The inaugural function was presided over by distinguished guests including
Prof. Dr. B. K. Agrawal, Principal and Dean, MMIMSR, Mullana; Prof. Dr.
Puneet Saxena, Professor, Dept. of Medicine, SMS Jaipur and Secretary
General, API; Dr. Arvind Gupta, Director, Diabetes Research Centre, Jaipur;
and Dr. Ravinder Garg, HOD, Dept. of Medicine, GGSMC&H, Faridkot.
The felicitation function was presided over by Prof. Dr. Virendra Singh,
Director, Punjab Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, Mohali; Dr. Raman
Puri, Founder and President, Lipid Association of India, Delhi; Dr. Charanjit
Singh, Executive Co-ordinator, National LAI, Delhi; Dr. Baldev Singh Aulakh,
Renal Transplant and Robotic Surgeon, Aykai Hospital, Ludhiana; Dr. Prashant
Aggarwal, DM Rheumatology, Ludhiana; Dr. Janak Raj Singla, PMC Observer,
Mansa; and Dr. Karamveer Goyal, Member, PMC. The Life Time Achievement
Award was conferred on Dr. M. L. Garg, senior physician from Bathinda.
During MAPICON 2026, more than 65 guest lectures were delivered by
renowned national faculty, 30 research papers were presented, and the
conference attracted over 250 physical delegates, 100 virtual delegates, and
more than 4,000 online viewers via YouTube. Encouragingly, 80 early bird
registrations for MAPICON 2027 were received during the conference.
